I’m interested in ordering. What do I do?
Because our beef is packaged fresh, our customers let us know they’re ready for more by completing our online reservation form. On the form, you’ll see the process from letting us know you’re interested, to providing specifications for your cutting order, making payment and picking up your beef.
What options do I have for my order?
You can order Madsen Beef in full, side (half) and half-side (quarter) quantities. We’ll give you options for the approximate weight of your order, since our product is sold on a price per pound (including processing and packaging). Prior to processing, we’ll ask you to give us your preferences for cuts and packaging so it meets your specifications.
How will my beef order be packaged?
All Madsen Beef orders are frozen at processing to maintain quality and freshness. Cuts and sizes will be packaged based on the order you provided. This gives every customer the best product based on how they like to prepare it for their family.
How is beef at Madsen raised?
In addition to grass feeding, our cattle are fed grain twice a day. They also have free choice access to only the highest quality hay. To make our feed recipe, we work closely with a nutritionist who tests each batch of hay for nutrients. Based on this analysis, we build our feed ration from multiple grains, natural proteins and minerals.
How does Madsen compare to grocery store beef?
Where do we start? Madsen Beef delivers freshness, flavor and texture that you can’t find in your local grocery store aisle. Because we raise our steers in small herds, we take the time to make sure our feed recipes are perfected to deliver the quality our families deserve. Best of all, our average price point is the same or lower than the average price of grocery store beef - a great value given the quality.
Can I split an order with friends or family?
Splitting an order with family and friends is a great way to put high quality beef on the table and spread the cost. Due to the customization of cutting orders, however, we ask that one order is submitted and then shared with those in your party. We’ve also made it easy to buy with quarter (half-side) full and half (side) options available to fit families of all sizes!
Can I donate some of my ground beef to charity?
Some customers choose to have certain cuts turned into hamburger. If this is more than you need, you can choose to donate a portion of your order to our Good Side Program which distributes ground beef to local organizations serving meals to help those in need.
Where is Madsen located?
Madsen Beef is located just south of the town of Odessa, Missouri - 35 miles east of Kansas City on Interstate 70. Our processing and packaging partners, where pickups occur, are located near us. Just a quick drive from Kansas City and Eastern Jackson County.
How long has Madsen been around?
Madsen Beef started operations and selling directly to families in 2019. But the history of farming and ranching in the Madsen Family goes back generations. You’ll find more information on our story and family roots here.
